We're looking for a LEGO Building Experience Design Manager to lead innovation in print and digital LEGO Building Instructions. In this role, you'll guide builders through every step, from inspiration to play, creating a seamless LEGO experience.You'll develop engaging, intuitive instruction systems that empower builders of all ages and explore new ways to enhance the LEGO experience. Collaborating with a diverse team, you'll ensure projects align with our vision and create delightful building experiences that spark imagination.Core ResponsibilitiesChampion the design of innovative paper and digital, non-verbal visual guides that support builders in constructing, extending, and sparking creativity in their LEGO play experience.Develop and map user journeys that lead to seamless building experiences, identifying touchpoints where creativity and engagement can be improved.Screen, evaluate and scope incoming projects to ensure alignment with the LEGO Group’s strategic goals and the needs of builders of all ages.User-Centered Research: Identify, conduct, and oversee play testing, observational studies, and caregiver feedback sessions to understand how builders engage with building instructions, and revise designs to meet consumer needs.Define and advocate for the complete experience of our LEGO sets, ensuring they are intuitive, fun, and developmentally appropriate for a diverse audience.Collaborate with and mentor a multidisciplinary design team, fostering a culture of co-creation, creativity, inclusivity, and builder-centered design that empowers everyone to think creatively.Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and marketing teams to align on desirability, feasibility, and viability, as well as creating cohesive and seamless experiences that can scale across the LEGO portfolio.Oversee the creation of prototypes and iterative testing to refine designs.Play your part in our team succeedingAs the LEGO Building Experience Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the design and development of groundbreaking LEGO Building Instruction innovations. You’ll oversee the facilitation experience by crafting engaging, intuitive, and clear non-verbal instruction systems that empower builders of all ages and affinities to construct, discover, and play with our diverse LEGO product portfolio. Your responsibilities will include exploring new ways to enhance the LEGO building experience, screening and scoping incoming projects, and driving the prototyping and development of innovative LEGO experiences.Do you have what it takes?A background in Experience Design, Service Design, Product Design, Toy Design, Human-Centered Design, or related field.Demonstrated experience in product or experience design, with some experience in a mentoring role.Background in Experience Design: Experience in UX Design, Service Design, Toy Design, Game Design, or a related field.Design Management Expertise: Proven track record in managing design projects with a focus on prototyping and innovation.Passion for Prototyping: Enthusiasm for working with physical and digital tools (like LEGO bricks!) to create engaging experiences.Communication Skills: Excellent storytelling, communication, and collaborationConsumer Insight Utilization: Experience working with consumers and employing testing insights to refine and enhance experiences. Strong understanding of child/human development.Collaborative Attitude: A collaborative approach to work across design fields, bringing ideas for enhancing the LEGO building experience from concept to reality.Nice to Have:Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, 3D LEGO Building Tools like Stud.io, and Figma.Please share in English your CV, motivational letter, and portfolio.
