The role of Director of Sustainability Risk and Traceability offers the opportunity to lead innovative approaches that integrate environmental, social, and governance factors into comprehensive risk assessments!Core Responsibilities
  • Drives the inclusion of sustainability (environmental, social, governance) factors into overall category-risk assessment and management process focused on most material/salient risks
  • Directs strategies to assess the supplier impact of new and existing sustainability regulatory and stakeholder expectations and integrates these to the supplier-facing systems ensuring the systems are continuously improved to minimize risk to the brand
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to develop risk mitigation and management strategies to support company sustainability agenda (e.g. on water, nature risk)
  • Develops and implements approach to supply chain / raw materials traceability and chain of custody by connecting to existing enterprise and supply chain risk management frameworks
  • Supports digital enablement of tools and processes to gain upstream visibility to meet regulatory compliance, sustainability claims and disclosures
  • Works cross-functionally to prepare external sustainability reporting with accurate traceability and supply chain risk data
  • Ensures identified sustainability risks are analyzed and communicated to the procurement teams and leadership through established governance process and regular reporting
  • Facilitates cross-category business continuity plan (BCP) for sustainability risks
  • Coordinates, participates in and, as required, drives sustainability risk assessment, management and governance processes development to enable compliant and resilient supplier base
  • Leads and develops team of direct reports to advance and operate supply chain risk assessment and traceability system in order to minimizing supply chain, regulatory and brand risk
Play your part in our team succeedingThe Sustainable Sourcing team is a global function within the centre-led, functionally driven Global Procurement organisation at the LEGO Group. Fully integrated into the company’s systems and processes, the team connects overall business strategy and requirements with global product categories and regional procurement teams to deliver optimal sourcing outcomes. Sustainable Sourcing function plays a critical role in advancing the LEGO Group’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agenda by driving the sustainability performance of the company’s supplier base. The team and their work are embedded in our purpose, strategy, and ways of working, driving long-term value creation and supporting the company’s sustainability goals. This newly established team is structured across the three pillars of ESG: Environmental, Social, and Governance and partners closely with other functions within the LEGO Group, including Supply Chain Operations, Procurement teams, Corporate Sustainability, Responsible Operations, Legal, Government Affairs and others.Do you have what it takes
  • Education within BSc/BA, MSc/MBA on Sustainability, Business or other related field preferred
  • Over a decade of proven experience working in sustainability, supply chain, sourcing and/or risk management in a multinational organization
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience/leadership in enterprise risk management, supply chain risk management, responsible supply chain monitoring tools and industry best-practices
  • Demonstrated expertise in building, directing, and managing large projects
  • Proven leadership in cross-functional environments and centralized service delivery models
  • Proven track record of addressing tactical business problems with strategic solutions
  • Preferably experience with building traceability systems
  • Proven experience in building, coaching, and leading high-performing teams in a matrixed or global environments
  • Ability to enable change across the organization, and to enroll and influence others; ability to communicate technical and project management concepts in business-oriented terms to different audiences including executive/senior management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, problem solve under pressure and tight timelines, escalate issues as needed, and support leadership with strategic decision-making
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including analytical, problem solving, organizational and issue resolution
