- Develop the team to provide subject matter in both space planning and visual merchandising, ensuring cohesive execution across all formats.
- Enhance the customer experience through compelling store layouts and visually impactful displays that inspire purchase decisions, communicate brand stories, and ease navigation.
- Maximize Sales & space potential by strategically planning space and visual presentation of merchandise to drive conversion and increase average basket value.
- Optimize Space Utilization by planning product categories, feature areas, and promotional zones using sales, inventory, and customer flow data to minimize underperforming space.
- Improve operational efficiency by aligning store layout changes with seasonal visual merchandising campaigns, streamlining processes, and ensuring timely execution.
- Maintain brand consistency by developing and enforcing standardized space planning and VM guidelines, ensuring uniform presentation across all stores.
- Promote innovation by experimenting with new visual techniques, display technologies, and layout concepts to continually refresh the in-store experience.
- Store Layout & Display Design: Develop store layouts and in-store visual presentation strategies to maximize selling space, facilitate customer flow, and create engaging displays aligned with brand and commercial objectives.
- Seasonal & Promotional Execution: Oversee the integration of seasonal campaigns and promotional changes into space and VM plans, ensuring impactful execution in line with the Master Calendar.
- Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring: Utilize sales data, foot traffic patterns, and VM audits to evaluate the effectiveness of layouts and displays, making data-led adjustments.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Commercial Planning, Marketing, Retail Operations, and Store Teams to ensure coordinated execution of space and VM strategies.
- Guideline Development: Create and maintain space planning and VM guidelines, planograms, and visual display manuals for consistent application.
- Training & Development: Lead training programs for store and VM teams to build capability in executing visual standards and optimizing store layouts.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to evolve space and VM strategies in response to changing market and consumer needs.
- Project Management: Manage space and VM projects from concept through execution, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Experience with space management software (e.g. JDA, Relex).
- Retail Industry Knowledge: A strong understanding of the industry including market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive dynamics.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze sales data, foot traffic patterns, etc. to evaluate store performance, identify implications, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong organization and planning skills, able to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills displaying ability to work with multiple levels of leaders and stakeholders across several business functions.
- Keen attention to detail for ensuring accuracy in range, layouts, etc.
