Joining us means being part of a global organisation where your work has a real impact.We are now looking for an Expert in External Communication & Media Relations to further strengthen DHI's voice in selected markets worldwide. This is a strategic role for someone who knows how to set agendas, craft compelling narratives, and build awareness that drives influence and impact.The roleYou will shape DHI's external voice and ensure we are recognised as trusted experts and thought leader on water resilience and the marine environment. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Developing external communication strategies and narratives aligned with DHI's purpose and the UN SDGs.
  • Creating high-quality content from opinion pieces and thought leadership articles to speeches and LinkedIn posts, translating complex science into accessible stories.
  • Building and nurturing media relationships, pitching stories, and securing impactful coverage in Danish and international outlets.
  • Advising and preparing senior leaders and specialists for high-profile events, media appearances, and keynote opportunities.
  • Further enhancing DHI's profile at major conferences, industry forums, and societal debates.
What we're looking forYou are a seasoned communicator with 7-10 years of experience in media relations or strategic external communications, and a proven track record of expanding the recognition of organisations and experts.
  • Background from water, environment, climate, or sustainability sectors, or corporate/agency roles with strong environmental focus.
  • Fluent in Danish and English with excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong media relations expertise and established journalist network.
  • Skilled at turning data and science into engaging stories.
  • Confident advisor to senior leaders and specialists.
