Job DescriptionAre you passionate about engineering, infrastructure and data governance and would like to help digital teams in The LEGO Group to onboard their data products into our self-service data platform?This is your chance to join the Data Engineering competency and continue the development of the Data Platform in its journey to be fully self-service.If you have more experience, you will be considered as Senior Engineer.Come join us!Core ResponsibilitiesAs our Engineer in the Data Platform department, you will build solutions and assess new technologies to be incorporated in the Data Platform. The objective of your product team is to create solutions that allow the organization to create and maintain their own data products, while you focus on the infrastructure where these products sit. You will enable other teams in the organization by providing detailed and clear documentation and user guides.You will have the chance to work with the product manager and team members from other competency areas on building the best technical solutions as we focus on reusability and maintainability of the platform’s services.The team setupThe data platform is a team of around 60 engineers within different competency areas (platform engineering, operations engineering and data engineering). These competencies are then represented on each of the product teams for a end-to-end delivery.Do you have what it takes?You are a collaborative person by nature and want to be a part of a global multi-functional team.You are curious and passionate about building value-creating and innovative solutions for the company and colleagues.You have a relevant background in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Intelligence or similar. It is preferred if you’re experienced within data platform or data warehouse. In addition, you have experience with some of the following:
  • Creating clear documentation and training material for non-technical colleagues
  • Great communication skills & ability to navigate complex business structures
  • Programming experience & best-practices knowledge (Python, Scala, SQL)
  • Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, SAP).
  • Working with API’s.
  • Version control and CI/CD (GitHub, GitLab)
Other Nice to haves include:
  • Interest in Data Governance, Security and data privacy engineering
  • Managing backend systems.
  • Building fast and scalable applications with high reusability.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as code (Terraform)
