If you are a curious and outgoing individual who strives for making science impact, this is the perfect opportunity for you!At LEO Pharma, we share a “challenge accepted” mindset, we look for people who thrive in unchartered territory, capable of handling versatile roles and willing to shape the LEO Pharma of tomorrow, with the aim to make a difference for patients suffering from dermatological diseases and leaving a valuable legacy behind.Your roleAs a Principal Scientist within Translational Sciences, your overall objective will be to characterize the potency and mode of action of new drug molecules, shaping indication and differentiation strategies within projects, as well as provide skin biology and immunology input to impact disease strategy and insourcing of new projects.More in detail, your main tasks will include:
- Enable understanding of compound PK/PD and mode of action, and build data packages for compound progression and asset differentiation
- Plan & design in vivo studies using disease relevant models and including PD and target engagement biomarkers. Execute via collaboration with expert CROs
- Continuously build and maintain an external network and stay updated on latest developments within dermatology, skin biology and disease models
- Proactively participate in creating, evaluating, and progressing new innovation opportunities,
- Collaborate with colleagues across all of R&D, Medical Affairs and New Product Planning. Engage in defining strategy and improving existing processes within both projects and Line-of-business
- PhD in Biology, Biomedicine or similar area, and strong research experience within field relevant to skin biology and immunology
- Experience and track record in Drug discovery or early Development within Pharma/Biotech
- Strong expertise within in vivo study design and execution.
- Experience in building BM plans and BM assay qualification is considered a strong plus
