Do you thrive in a leadership role where you will ensure ongoing improvement within financial processes and reporting?We are looking for a senior manager to our Group Accounting team in Salling Group. You will be responsible for a team of process specialists within procure-to-pay (AP) and sale-to-pay (AR) processes. With more than 10.000.000 customers per week through our stores efficient processes within these areas are key for Salling Group.Your areas of responsibilityYou will be managing a team of 14 skilled colleagues that cover two main areas; Process implementation and optimization; and Support of B2B customers.One part of your team consist of approx. 10 process specialist, who are responsible for implementing new accounting processes to support new business initiatives across the Group. Further, you will be responsible for ongoing improvement and optimization of existing processes, and ensuring a strong control environment.The operational tasks within the accounts payable and accounts receivable areas are mainly performed from Salling Group’s internal Shared Service Center in Szczecin, Poland.Another part of your team is responsible for creation of new B2B customers, invoicing, dunning and support to B2B customers. You will be responsible for a team of 4 accountants supporting this area.It is your responsibility to ensure that the processes are standardized across the group, efficient and in compliance with IFRS and local legislation. You will ongoingly improve and optimize processes and controls in close collaboration with colleagues in SSC, Germany and Poland.As the group process owner you will be in close dialogue with stakeholders across the Group. Therefore, it is important that you are a strong communicator and is able to keep a keen eye on finance requirements in the business processes.As a strong and experienced leader, you provide direction, inspire and develop your global team to deliver high performance, focus on well-being and supporting a culture of fun at work.This includes:
  • Assess, manage, and develop own team members
  • Recruiting, succession planning and retention
  • Improve and optimize processes and reporting within your area of responsibility
  • Implement strong and efficient internal controls
  • Implement strong monthly management reporting within area of responsibility
  • Ensure that new processes are in compliance with legislation and group policies
  • Ensure the know-how at the Shared Service Centre (SSC) that enables SSC to support the business fluently and efficiently
  • Make sure your team are participating in or leading projects with impact on the specialist areas
  • Be an active part of the Group Accounting Management Team setting future direction for Group Accounting
Travel requirements15-20 days of travel must be expected to visit stakeholders in SSC, Germany and Poland.Who are you?
You probably hold a Master degree in Finance, Business Administration or similar and have 5+ years of experience with a strong leadership record preferably in a group context. You are a keen motivator who fosters high performance through engagement of your team. You ensure dedication, flexibility and a can-do attitude in the team whether the task at hand is operational or project related.You have experience in working with colleagues in different countries and you can see yourself in a role where you work closely with your colleagues in our SSC in Poland.Your background and experience have given you the ability to build and lead your team to deliver outstanding results. As a person you are trustworthy and possess a high degree of integrity, and you create positive relationships with peers andpartners. You build trust through dialogue at all levels of the organization.You work accurately, acknowledging the importance of keeping an overview and keeping the end result as a fix-point. You are structured and willing to put in effort where needed in order for the team to adhere to deadlines and reach its goals. You have a positive outlook allowing you to build bridges and solid relationships on all levels of the group.
