Help create meaningful experiences! Become a committed, warm-hearted and enterprising social organizer for lonely young people aged 16-30What is HUSRUM Esbjerg?HUSRUM is a free offer for young people between the ages of 16 and 30 who experience loneliness and may also struggle with a psychological vulnerability such as social anxiety or depression. HUSRUM Esbjerg is newly established and you can therefore help to shape the department from the start. With us, young people meet in discussion groups and at social events, where they are listened to, learn new tools and meet other young people in the same situation. Do you want to join a strong voluntary community and support these young people in breaking the loneliness? There can be many reasons why you are lonely, and the young people in HUSRUM say, among other things, that they:
  • Have low self-esteem or poor self-confidence
  • Are newcomers who find it difficult to find new friends
  • Has anxiety, depression or other mental challenges
  • Have been exposed to bullying
  • Feeling left out at the studio/workplace
  • Has conflicts and problems in the family
  • Have suicidal thoughts
HUSRUM has an employed volunteer coordinator, but is also run by volunteers who contribute by being organizers at our social events, group leaders for our discussion groups or heart friends (individual "adult friends") and communication assistants. The task as activity managerHUSRUM Esbjerg will hold a weekly social event. Often we will meet at Folkekirkens Hus in Skolegade, where we have an office, but there are also many opportunities to organize events where the young people come out and experience the city of Esbjerg and the surrounding area. The content of the events is, for example, walks, king games, DIY, cooking, communal dining, board games, city walks, cultural events, laser games, summer house tours and Christmas lunch. As an activity leader, you help to plan, execute and distribute tasks to other activity volunteers. You contribute to the development of events that are adapted to the needs of lonely young people for recognition and security. You also have a special role in welcoming new young people and volunteers extra well. You will of course get a thorough introduction to the tasks as an organizer before you are thrown into the work and you will become part of a committed organization with plenty of opportunities to invite in and influence the activities. How much time do you need to be able to set aside as a volunteer organizer? As an activity leader, you must basically be able to help and take part in the planning of an event every month (and preferably several). You must also be able to participate in our mandatory introduction course (which takes place on a weekday evening and lasts 2.5 hours) and quarterly volunteer meetings for all volunteers in HUSRUM. All in all, you should therefore expect to be able to devote around 5 hours per month to voluntary work. What are the expectations for the activity manager? At HUSRUM, we value equal communities, where everyone has something to contribute and where there is also room to be vulnerable. We expect you to feel comfortable taking responsibility and can keep an overview when the activities and the young people are going on. You must be persistent and want to be part of a community where we grow up in a strong sense of unity and that we know each other well. You would like to have experience in coordinating and delegating tasks from other voluntary associations. We have no specific expectations regarding your age or background. As a volunteer, you get:
  • Meaningful voluntary work where you get to know the young people well and can follow their social development
  • Voluntary work with the opportunity to test your own leadership skills
  • Possibility of a free leadership course for volunteers
  • Guidance from the coordinator and supervision by a professional supervisor
  • Possibility of participation in courses for volunteers
  • A close community with other volunteers in HUSRUM, consisting of discussion group leaders, organizers of social events and communication volunteers
  • Possibility of influencing the development of cooperation with external partners and networks
  • Possibility of opinion
