These are mostly used in the chocolate and confectionery industries, but shea oil is also used in cosmetics.
Our highly automated production process runs 24/7 - 365 days a year, supervised by expert operators from our central control room. Our oil and fats laboratory is responsible for the development of AAK's global process technologies, which contribute to cleaner and more efficient manufacturing, and more sustainable end products.
Our product development team manages development activity across the group, in close collaboration with the Customer Innovation Centre. Our site's large IT team also works across the globe.About the roleAAK are seeking to appoint a Process Engineer, to the Global Engineering team. The role holder will manage and improve the efficient use of process technologies, in existing and new production facilities in AAK globally. This role will work closely with other members of the Global Engineering group and local engineering teams, to investigate possible improvements to existing processes, or new developments in process technology available.ResponsibilitiesDevelop & fine-tune the benchmark models for production plants and utilities, carry out benchmark assessment studies on the sites, report on performance against benchmark highlighting improvement opportunities.Follow up on benchmarks reports and provide support to site production and engineering teams to realise identified improvements.Implement new projects and modifications to existing process plants - process design, equipment specifications, project management, plant commissioning.Work as part of a team to develop plans and specifications for new equipment on existing sites or on Greenfield projects. Evaluate supplier quotations. Support sites during project execution and commissioning.Plant optimisation - provide assistance to AAK sites to optimise performance re capacity, yields, operating cost.Develop guidelines for best practice installation and operation of oil processing plantsTrials and recommendation on process aids for different applicationsAbout youMasters Degree in Chemical Engineering or similar
Ideally 5 years experience in vegetable oil industry
Process plant design, commissioning & optimization
Knowledge of production processes, costs, quality control, raw materials and other methods for maximising the efficient manufacture and distribution of goods.
Advanced knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
Ability to design and understand precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
Strong skills in project management.
Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
