Manufacturing Test is responsible for development of production test systems for Vestas. The team develops test systems for our factories, covering test of all major parts of the turbine such as electrical switchboards, converters, generators, and fully assembled nacelles etc.
For this position we look for a highly skilled engineer with thorough knowledge of Industrial automation and PLC programming.
The department places high focus on an informal working environment and teamwork and we consistently score high on team collaboration in our employee surveys.Responsibilities
  • Developing test methods, user interface, and creation of automation test programs for our automated test solutions. You will be involved in all phases of our projects and will play a vital role in performing the final commissioning and hand-over of our test equipment at the factories
  • Taking the technical responsibility for delivering automated test solutions in your projects, involving and collaborating with engineers and stakeholders in factories and in R&D departments
  • Setting the safety and quality standards for our automated test solutions and acting as a role model in this regard
  • Close collaboration with the project manager, where you plan, prioritize and document various test-related activities to meet project deadlines
  • Fostering and supporting an open and collaborative culture, where you prioritize knowledge sharing and constructive dialogues with your colleagues globally
  • Ensuring documentation is delivered timely according to the project Stage/Gate mode and travel onsite for installation and commissioning of test systems at our factories worldwide
  • Develop and improve our test methods and design standards for production testing and assist the factories in performing complex troubleshooting on test systems and turbines under test
Qualifications
  • You have an educational background as Electrical Engineer, Marine Engineer, or Automation Engineer, with experience as an Electrician or similar
  • You are expected to have 3+ years of experience in the creation of automation solutions
  • You have thorough experience in hands-on as well as theoretical work with electrical systems
  • You are experienced with troubleshooting on electrical systems
  • You read and understand complex electrical schematics as well as electrical documentation
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and HMI systems is desirable
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems will be an advantage
