Operates and maintains the rig's communication systems and assists with OSA and general clerical duties. Implements and upholds safety and environmental compliance requirementsPrimary responsabilitiesEmployee has to follow Shelf Drilling Management system at all times and especially for:· Hazard Identification
· Risk Management and Risk Assessment
· Corrective and Preventive Actions
· Job Planning
· Permit to Work and Energy Isolations
· Event Report and Event Investigation
· Reporting of unsafe acts and conditions, including stopping the job
· Emergency Response and Station Bill Duties
· Environmental Management, Sustainability and Compliance
· Audit, Assurance, and Inspection Activities
· Preventive and Corrective Maintenance
· Red Zone Management and Restrict Access Areas
· Pre-Tour, Pre-Task, Debrief and HSE Meetings
· Occupational Health Management and Health SurveillanceNote: The exact name of applicable policies or procedures may change from time to time, but employees are always expected to comply with all requirements of the company management system, even if the specific name is not listed aboveEssential functions· Receive and transmit messages between rig and shore bases, supply vessels, helicopters, and other stations by radiotelephone.
· Operate all communication equipment in the radio room and ensure they are well maintained and operational.
· Act as the Rig Focal Point for all Training Management System Training enquiries.
· Maintain a radio watch on maritime and aeronautical emergency frequencies.
· Maintain records/logs of all radio communications to and from the rig. Keep records of telephone charges from the installation (if applicable)
· Ensure the maintenance of all electronic navigational aids where applicable.
· Test the standby radio equipment SARTS and Epirbs and the radio equipment in the lifeboats as required by JDE. These tests to include checking of the radio room batteries.
· Advise the OIM of any emergency situations within the vicinity of the installation.
· Inform the Helicopter Landing Officer and control room of all intended helicopter traffic to the rig.
· Establish and maintain radio contact with helicopter traffic to and from the rig. Advise pilots of landing clearances, meteorological conditions, etc. and record in the helicopter movement log
· Coordinate and control the isolation of radio equipment during periods of radio silence.
· Assist with the embarkation and disembarkation of all passengers and briefings as required.
· Assist with the maintenance of POB System as required.
· Assist the OSA with the tracking of SAFETY CONVERSATIONS cards on a daily basis.
· Incorporate the safety risk assessment process into all tasks, whether working alone or as part of a team.
· Participate in SAFETY CONVERSATIONS process.
· Call a Time Out for Safety (TOFS) whenever an unplanned hazard or a change in the expected results is observed.
· Carry out assigned duties in a safe manner according to Company policies and procedures.
· Participate in emergency drills and respond to emergency situations as per designation on station bill.
· Become familiar with the rig's emergency and medical evacuation procedures.
· Report any incidents, potential hazards, or abnormal situations to the supervisors.
· Attend the weekly safety meeting.
· Coordinate crew changes
· Maintain POB list and crew roster.
· Maintain the radio log, keeping account of telephone calls.
· Provide office and clerical assistance to OIM in day-to-day routines.
· Prepare manifest for helicopters.
· Attend safety meetings.
· Assist OSA.
· Weekly payroll, training pay, expense reports & time sheets.
· Track short service employees.
· POC for rig personnel regarding schedule of training and travel
· POC for monitoring and maintenance of Skills VX.
· POC/liaison with corporate HR payroll, travel, and benefits.
· Provide cover for CRO during meal breaks (if applicable)pre-requisite offshore/training requirements are:· BOSIET / FOET
· CA-EBS
· H2S
· Valid GMDSS License
· OEUK Medical
· Valid PassportEducation - minimum requiredHigh school diploma or equivalentExperience - minimum requiredOffshore drilling industry experience preferredSkillsMinimum Required:
  • Good communication skills (written and oral)
  • Familiar with appropriate computer software, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) in addition to Proactive, self-starter with the ability to work at a high pace with minimal supervision
